Recreate Dell Diagnostic partition on new Ubuntu Drive

I have a 3570 Precision workstation running Ubuntu.  I need to replace the SSD drive with a new drive.  I was told that the Dell Diagnostic partition on the current drive would be lost and I would need to reinstall it.

All I can find is very old discussions about the Dell Diagnostic partition (newest is 2011). Also, the Dell site states if you do not have it on the drive, too bad, you cannot activate it.

Do I need to worry about this partition?

I have found some recreation instructs based on CDs but this information is so out of date.

Does anyone know how to install, or update the SSD and still have the Dell Diagnostic partition on the drive?

I have never used it.  Do I need it?

The Dell Diagnostic partition is a feature that comes pre-installed on some Dell computers and contains tools for diagnosing hardware issues. It is not necessary for the normal operation of the computer, but it can be useful in identifying and fixing hardware problems.

If you need to replace the SSD drive on your Dell Precision workstation, you may lose the Dell Diagnostic partition that was on the old drive. However, this should not affect the normal operation of your computer.

If you do need the Dell Diagnostic partition, you can try creating a recovery USB drive using the Dell OS Recovery Tool. This tool allows you to create a bootable USB drive that can be used to restore your computer to its factory settings, including the Dell Diagnostic partition.

Alternatively, you can try using the Dell SupportAssist tool, which is available for download on the Dell website. This tool can diagnose hardware issues and suggest solutions, and does not require the Dell Diagnostic partition to be present on your computer.

Ultimately, whether or not you need the Dell Diagnostic partition depends on your specific needs and use case. If you are not sure, it may be worth keeping a backup of the partition just in case, but for most users, it is not essential.

SHIM UEFI KEY MANAGEMENT NOT COVERED INT DELL RECOVER PROCEDURES

I tried the Dell recover route and made an bootable recovery  disk (USB disk).

TEST: I decided to test the DELL recovery procedure on a new (never used) Dell Ubuntu machine to save the shipped configuration. I made a DELL-UBUNTU recovery USB disk from this machine and then tried to recover using this disk and the same machine.

I booted from the recovery USB drive and everything was great UNTIL the got SHIM UEFI KEY management (UBUNTU) screen.

The recovery process wanted a MOK key.  I could not find where DELL in their instructions on using the recovery disk mentioned the MOK/SHIM UEFI KEY issues

https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000152681/how-system-recovery-and-backup-workswith-ubuntu-linux-on-your-dell-pc

Why wasn't this covered?  What do I do now?

Summary of my Dell Recovery disk test: FAILED TO RECOVER BECAUSE MOK KEY MISSING

- Got newly shipped (unused) Dell Ubuntu machine

- Create a Dell Recovery bootable USB disk

https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000152034/how-to-backup-your-dell-pc-using-the-ub
untu-linux-backup-utility

- Using Dell's recovery instructions per above link, tested if the recovery disk works

- MOK KEY ERROR

  - Received "verification failed 0x1A security violation error"

- SHIM UEFI Key management screen appeared

                     Perform MOK Management

                      Enroll key from Disk

                      Enroll Hash from Disk

No instruction from DELL recovery link or how to handle this error

Now the machine will not boot from recovery USB or UBUNTU live USB disk.

Why weren't the SHIM UEFI key management instructions covered in DELL's "How to recover a DELL-UBUNTU image on your DELL PC" link?  What is missing in the instruction?

Can someone point me to updated or complete instructions using the recovery disk? The current instruction does not even mention the MOK key?
